Who’s been a naughty school boy, then?
November 2nd, 2011 Posted in BlogBurmese Dreaming to open in Sydney cinema and Toronto festival in November (and more!). Yes, it seems like the momentum for Burmese Dreaming is on the up and up, steadily but really quite strongly. ‘Yep, rockin’. Very very cool,’ says the director, pulling superlatives from an obviously vast vocabulary. The Toronto gig is official selection in the International Diaspora Film Festival and the Sydney screening, which may be one of a number depending on attendance, is in association with the Bill Crews Charitable Trust with proceeds helping fund an orphanage in Burma. Respect to the people in both Toronto and the Bill Crews Crew – they have both been (very) easy to work with which has been both a pleasure and a bit of a relief as work otherwise has been immensely busy for a few months now. Details for both screenings are below . And on the horizon – deals are currently being negotiated for world wide distribution of the film, in addition to US distribution. But Mum is the word – I am already standing in the corner like a naughty school boy having apparently said the wrong thing at the wrong time. Hello is a dirty word. But that’s okay – naughty school boys never waste their time standing in corners feeling punished but usually spend the time contriving their next mischief (he he he) Peace and love, Timothy, director, Burmese Dreaming.
